I’m often bored with the same old cookie-cutter Valentines that you get at Target or Wal-Mart or where ever else. So this year, I decided for my son’s class Valentine’s Day party that I would design something unique. Boy, did I hit a creative wall. I probably spent at least $20 on scrapbook paper and stickers for Valentine cards and I didn’t end up using a single one.

Instead I took one of my current clip art images and re-vamped it in to an adorable Valentine’s Day card. I’m really pleased with how they turned out and I can’t wait for Jax to take them to school (not that 3-year-olds care about what’s on their Valentine cards…but still).

I also think that they show how much I have grown as an artist over the past year. It’s crazy to think that this month PoppyHill will turn a whole year old!
